❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about renting a motorbike with N&M Samui Motorbike Rental in Koh Samui. Can't find your answer? Contact us directly — we're happy to help!
How can I book a motorbike?
Just send us a message on WhatsApp and we will book the motorbike for you (subject to availability). Please send us a photo of your passport and driving licence. Payment of the deposit and the first rental day is collected on the day of delivery.
↑ Back to topWhat about the deposit?
We collect the deposit in cash when we deliver the motorcycle. You may also leave it in US dollars, euros, or your passport. The deposit is refunded immediately when you return the motorcycle in the same condition as you received it. You will always receive a written confirmation of the deposit paid, which forms part of the rental agreement signed at delivery.
↑ Back to topDo you deliver the motorbikes?
Yes! We deliver and collect motorbikes for rentals of at least 3 days (5 days for smaller scooters) in the Chaweng, Lamai, and Maenam zones. If your accommodation is outside these areas, you will need to pick up and return the bike at our shop. Please note we do not deliver to Chaweng Noi hill, some parts of Bophut hill, or any location reached by very steep roads — these roads are dangerous for automatic scooters.
↑ Back to topCan I take the motorbike off Koh Samui island?
No — our motorbikes must stay on Koh Samui. In the event of an accident or mechanical issue, we need to be able to assist you quickly, which is only possible on the island. Taking the bike off-island is a breach of the rental agreement and may result in a penalty.
↑ Back to topWhat should I do if I have an accident?
If another vehicle is at fault, call us immediately — we will handle communications with the insurance and police. Never leave the scene without a police report or insurance document. If you have a minor fall or scratch, first make sure you are safe, then contact us as soon as possible so we can inspect the bike. Please do not wait until the last day of your rental to report any damage.
↑ Back to topIf I damage the motorbike, what will I have to pay?
We document the bike's condition with photos before every rental and encourage you to do the same. If damage is found on return, you will be responsible for the cost of the damaged parts plus labour. We provide a transparent price list for all parts. If a third party (e.g. in a car park) causes damage, we advise you to seek compensation from that person — as per our agreement, you remain liable for any damage to the bike during your rental period.
↑ Back to topCan I ride everywhere on Koh Samui?
All our bikes are automatic scooters designed for flat to moderately hilly paved roads. Off-road riding and very steep mountain roads are strictly forbidden. Please avoid the highest point of the island (Phra Buddha Dhipankara temple) and steep hillside restaurants such as The Roof — automatic bikes have no engine braking and can be dangerous on steep descents. Stick to the ring road and coastal roads for a safe, enjoyable ride.
